The Samanadipa Lay Trust warmly invites you to join this year’s Kathina celebration on Sunday, 1 November 2026.
What is Kathina?
Kathina is a gathering of monks and laity that marks the end of the traditional three-month rains retreat. During the retreat period, monks typically stay within their monasteries and don’t travel for prolonged periods. Kathina is a time for the lay community to come together and offer requisites to the monastery, so that it can replenish what has been used up and prepare for the cold months of the year. We invite you to join us on this joyful occasion.

Samanadipa Hermitage, Goljek 3, Trebnje.
